The pen tool in SAI is much easier for beginners than the pen tool in Photoshop is (particularly CS2 and up). The different brushes really recreate their respective mediums wonderfully. Haven't found a better program to do this with. You cannot use brush opacity but rather you change the opacity of an entire layer. As well as sometimes opacity levels don't carry over well when you flatten layers (though they do hold when you save as a .png or .jpeg or any file type that doesn't hold layers). Overall Paint Tool SAI is a wonderful program for traditional artists who want to try their hand at digital art.
